Assessment of recreational nature use on the islands of the Kazan region of the Kuibyshev reservoir

The article presents the results of the study of recreational development of the Islands of the Kazan region of the Kuibyshev reservoir in the summer of 2018. It is shown that currently the studied Islands are used for a variety of species and mobile recreation. The highest rates of recreational load fall on garden and country recreation. There are 36 Islands occupied for garden and country development. The largest number of garden and country plots falls on the Islands adjacent to Kazan (1889 plots). The area of recreational development in the territory varies from 0.1 to 100%. Mass recreational uses of the island territories are picnic recreation (dominated by weekends and holidays), Amateur fishing (on weekdays) and beach-bathing (the hottest days of summer). In total, 41743 holidaymakers and tourists were counted on the Islands in the summer of 2018. With an average attendance of 902 people / day, the spread of values is significant – from 7 to 3442 people/day. Recreational load increases significantly with the temperature of the air and water. Given the high environmental and social value of the island territories as recreational facilities for residents of a large urban agglomeration of Kazan, it is recommended to allocate them as recreational areas with the status of recreational land.
