Abstract

Liquid products of wood pyrolysis contain a complex of biologically active substances, which theoretically can have a beneficial effect on the development of some plant species. However, the studies carried out did not reveal a statistically proven stimulating effect of pyrolysis liquid solutions and wood vinegar in dilutions of 1:100, 1:200, 1:300, 1:400, 1:900 on the germination capacity and root length of seedlings of oats (Avena sativa L.), white mustard (Sinápis álba L.) and pea (Pisum sativum L.). The most concentrated
solutions of pyrolysis liquid and wood vinegar had a toxic effect on the studied test cultures. The germination capacity and the length of the seedling roots when treated with syamyan solutions at a dilution of 1: 400 did not differ from the control. When processing oat (Pisum sativum L.) seeds with solutions of liquid pyrolysis products in a dilution of 1: 900, there was a tendency to stimulate root growth and improve germination.
