Abstract

For the first time, studies were carried out on 13 lakes located in the protected zone of the Saralinsky area of the Volzhsko-Kamsky State Natural Biosphere Reserve. Lakes located on the II above-floodplain terrace of the river Volga, formed as a result of the separation of the bays of the Kuibyshev reservoir and differ in shallow depth; terrace III lakes have suffusion, suffusion-karst and artificial origin, its maximum depth reaches 8 m. Comparison of cartographic materials of different times showed a decrease in the
area of most lakes for the period from 1969 to 2020.
